Objectives of the Mini Games Program

The primary goal of the Mini Games program is to build upon the foundational skills that children have acquired through our Auskick Program. By participating in modified mini games, children will enhance their understanding of football concepts, improve their gameplay, and build the confidence necessary for a smooth transition into our Under 7 SANFL Juniors Program.

The program will cover various aspects of football, including basic tactics, team play, and positional awareness, all while maintaining a fun and engaging atmosphere. It is an excellent opportunity for young players to develop their skills in a supportive and structured setting.

What Participants Will Need

To ensure all participants are prepared for the program, they will be provided with a playing top. However, each player will need to bring the following items:

  • Chemist mouthguard
  • Football shorts and socks
  • Football boots
  • Drink bottle

Having the proper equipment is essential for the safety and comfort of the players during the games.

Parent Volunteers Needed

For the Mini Games program to run smoothly, we rely on the support and involvement of parent volunteers. We need several volunteers to assist with game day management and player positioning. Volunteering is a great way for parents to engage with their children’s activities and contribute to the community spirit of our club.

Volunteer Requirements:

  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) from SA.GOV.AU
  • Availability for a brief training session before the program begins

Parent volunteers will receive additional assistance and education to ensure they are well-prepared for their roles. Your involvement is crucial in making this program a success and providing a positive experience for all the young players.

Registration Information

Both player and parent volunteer registrations close on Monday, 29th July. To register your child for the Mini Games program or to volunteer as a game day helper, please use the following link: Register Here.

We encourage all interested families to register as soon as possible to secure their spots. Participation in this program is an excellent opportunity for children to further their football development while enjoying the camaraderie and fun that comes with being part of the Walkerville Junior Football Club community.
